Customizable NFTs: Assets & Rarity

One of the aspects of NFTs that excites us the most is the ability for them to be dynamic and ever-changing. In a digital environment, we are not as restricted as we would be traditional art forms, so we can explore unmatched levels of interactivity.
Leveraging this, we are creating a system that will allow you to customize your Fort Gotten Kidz using Kid Compatible Assets to change how your kid-token looks on-chain.
This allows for a deeper and more personal experience, allowing you to truly embody your inner kid just as you envision it, further strengthening our focus on art and subjective value over a pure math and scarcity-based system.

How Does it Work?

Using a Fort Gotten Kid and The Campfire's Customize Your Kid System, you can both un-equip and equip Kid Compatible Assets. As the Kid Compatible Assets are NFTs in themselves, you can freely trade, sell, or buy them.
For equipping Kid Compatible Assets (NFTs), you need to hold these assets in your wallet. You can get Kid Compatible Assets through rewards, airdrops, special auctions, temporary activity shops, and special drops; among other ways.
Another way to get Kid Compatible Assets is to un-equip any assets your kid is currently wearing. When you do that, the asset will be removed from your kid and will be added as an NFT in your wallet.
All the customization transactions occur using the Cardano Blockchain. Because of this, a small transaction fee (Cardano Fees) will be charged for every customization transaction done by the user.
Not all traits are Kid Compatible Assets, and not all traits are customizable. Currently, this system only works with Kidz from Episode 02, but customization for Episode 01 and 00 kidz is in the works.

Assets Rarity

As many of our fans know, most assets within the Fort Gotten Universe are incredibly rare, with the most common assets having around 45 (at most) within a Collection of 5,000 tokens.
It has always been our goal to appeal to the subjective value of art more than a number-based rarity system, making every kid as unique as it can be and allowing everyone to find something they enjoy. In spite of that, we decided to implement a basic rarity system within the already incredibly scarce asset ecosystem.
There exists a rarity system within the Kid Compatible Assets, and every asset has a distinct rarity level. This rarity level is based on scarcity and the number of copies of the same asset in circulation (both as assets and equipped on kidz).
You can quickly discern the rarity level for every asset based on the frame it comes in: Starting with a Wooden Frame for the most common assets, to an Iron Frame, to a Golden Frame to a Diamond Frame for the rarest ones.
Please keep in mind that with our Customize your Kid system, the rarity for this project will never be set in stone. While the basic foundation is already in place, there will always be possibilities for certain asset classes to experience minor changes within the overarching rarity of Fort Gotten.
While we do not have any rarity tool ourselves, feel free to use systems like CNFT Jungle or our own explorer to look into the numbers of the collection.
Finally, we will soon share a spreadsheet with general rarity information for Fort Gotten.
